The 'Hoops' series represents the grandest scale of John and Bobbie's collaborative work, designed for impactful, major-wall presentations. These pieces, ranging in size from 2 to 4 feet, are dynamic explorations of form and material. Some Hoops are precise, while others twist and curve in organic expressions, suggesting movement and energy. The copper is flamed, with hues ranging from deep, almost black char to shimmering bronze, adding depth and warmth. The dichroic glass, in colors ranging from emerald green and sapphire blue to ruby red and golden amber, shimmers and changes with the viewer's perspective, creating a mesmerizing focal point. The dichroic effect adds an ancient spectre, making the glass appear to glow from within.
